Pricing & financing

No mystery numbers, no cash-in-hand to a stranger. Zip gives you a clear price up front, a firm number after your pro takes a look, and the option to pay over time.

How you get a price

01

Send a photo, get an estimate

Snap a quick picture of the problem when you request a job. Your Top Pro reviews it and sends a good-faith price range — before anyone visits your home.

02

Approve the estimate

Like the range? Accept it and your pro schedules a visit. No commitment to a final number yet — and no sitting through a sales pitch to learn what it costs.

03

Get a firm price after a look

Your pro inspects the job in person and confirms the exact price. It can come in lower or higher than the estimate — but there are no surprises after you approve it.

04

Pay securely through Zip Coming soon

Pay through the platform instead of handing over cash or a check. Your job, price, and receipt all live in one place — easy to find if you ever need it.

Finance your project Coming soon

A new roof or a full HVAC replacement is a big number all at once. Financing lets you spread the cost into a monthly payment — so a needed repair doesn’t have to wait for the right month.

Common questions

Why an estimate first instead of a firm price?

Good contractors can’t honestly give a final price from a photo alone — the real cost often depends on what they find once they open things up. The estimate gives you a realistic range so you can decide whether to move forward, and the firm price after inspection means no bait-and-switch.

Can the firm price be different from the estimate?

Yes — it can be higher or lower. The estimate is a good-faith range based on the photos and description; the firm price reflects what your pro actually finds on site. You always approve the firm price before any work begins.

When will paying and financing through Zip be available?

We’re rolling them out. Request a job or create an account and we’ll notify you the moment secure payment and financing go live in your area.

Is there any cost to get matched and receive an estimate?

No. Requesting a job, getting matched with your Top Pro, and receiving an estimate are free. You only pay for the work you approve.
